Mistrial ruled in animal cruelty case By Jim Tiffin GRANTS — A mistrial was declared Wednesday in the case of Arlene Krippene, 75, who was facing 15 counts of animal cruelty after her St. Francis Animal Sanctuary in Candy Kitchen was shut down and more than 90 dogs seized by the Cibola County Sheriff’s Office in June 2009.
